Actuarial insight · Clear direction
Independent, senior advisory for Bermuda's reinsurers, insurers, ILS managers, captives, and the boards and law firms that serve them — grounded in decades of underwriting, risk, and regulatory experience on the ground.
What we do
Senior, conflict-free advice across strategy, regulation, and risk — connected in a single relationship rather than handed between siloed providers.
BSCR and economic-balance-sheet advisory, solvency and capital positioning, and independent challenge on risk-based capital decisions.
Navigating the BMA end to end — licensing and change-of-business, group supervision, CISSA/GSSA, and turning consultation papers into concrete action.
Advisory on ILS and alternative-capital structures: deal review, governance, and regulatory positioning for managers, vehicles, and investors.
Commercial and regulatory due diligence, transaction support, and independent review for M&A, legacy, and new formations.
Independent second opinions, peer review, and expert input for boards, management teams, and counsel.
Practical training for boards, risk teams, and new entrants on Bermuda's regulatory and capital framework.
About
Lighthouse Advisory is led by Ravi Pachai, FIA — an actuary with more than twenty years in the Bermuda re/insurance market.
Ravi has worked across underwriting, pricing, and risk at ACE Tempest Re, Validus, and AXA XL — where he served as Chief Risk Officer and owned the CISSA process. He later joined the Bermuda Monetary Authority as Deputy Director, working on financial stability and representing Bermuda internationally at the IAIS.
That combination — a practitioner who has priced the risk, run the risk function, and sat on the regulator's side of the table — is what Lighthouse brings to every engagement: senior, independent, and conflict-free.
